LOCATION MAP
Kanchanaburi is an extended
province that borders Myanmar to the west, surrounded with national
parks, rivers, dams and magnificent scenery. The terrain of
Kanchanaburi is comprised mainly of mountains and high plains. The
range is the source of Kanchanaburi's two most important rivers;
Kwai Noi and Kwai Yai. As a result, several of Thailands largest
waterfalls and most extensive wildlife sanctuaries are found in this area.
Beautiful scenery is not the only attraction this
destination offers. Whether its fishing, rafting, canoeing, mountain
biking, golfing, elephant and jungle trekking, tiger ranch, or war
museum, Kanchanaburi takes pride in offering them all.
Kanchanaburi is also the location of the notorious Death Railway,
and the Bridge on the River Kwai, one of the worlds most famous
World War II sites which has been immortalized in print and film,
including David Leans Oscar winning film "The Bridge over the River Kwai".
